Decision Intelligence is an Australian business based in Melbourne, with ABN 15 292 005 341. This page explains, in plain English, what we do with your details when you visit decisionintel.co, send us an enquiry, join the Bias Scanner waitlist or buy Homo Rationalis. It's short because we don't collect much. That's on purpose.
We keep:
That's all. We don't ask for your name, and we don't collect recordings, files or links through the waitlist.
You can also join by emailing hello@decisionintel.co. Then we keep your email, including your name if it's in it and anything else you write, and treat it the same as a form sign-up: one launch email, and deleted 12 months after Bias Scanner launches.
We use your email address for one thing only: sending you one email when Bias Scanner launches. We send it from our Gmail account, and it says who it's from and how to unsubscribe. Joining the waitlist is your consent to that email, as the Spam Act 2003 requires.
Payments are handled by Stripe. When you buy the print-and-play pack, we receive your name, your email address, which licence you chose (Personal, Teacher or Organisation) and any billing details Stripe asks for, such as your country or postcode. Stripe handles your card details; we never see or store them. Checkout happens on Stripe's own secure page, which is covered by Stripe's privacy policy and cookies.
We use your email to send you the download and to help with anything to do with your purchase, such as a problem with the file, and to send you a corrected file if we fix your edition. We won't add you to any mailing list unless you ask.
We keep purchase records for as long as Australian tax law requires, which is currently five years.
If you ask about a program or a school session through a form on our site, we receive what you type into it: usually your name, your email address, your organisation or school, the program you're asking about and your message. We use it to reply to you and to arrange anything you book with us. We won't add you to a mailing list unless you ask.
Our enquiry and waitlist forms are part of our own website, which is hosted by Cloudflare, a US-based company. When you send a form, it comes to us as an email. We don't store it on our website.
To keep out bots, our forms use Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks signals such as your IP address and browser details and may use your browser's storage while it does. See Cloudflare's Turnstile Privacy Addendum. To stop abuse, we also briefly check a scrambled form of your IP address and keep it for no more than 10 minutes.
Form emails, and anything you send to our hello@ or privacy@ addresses, are kept in our Gmail account. Google may store them in the United States and other countries.
If you buy Homo Rationalis, your purchase is processed by Stripe, a US-based company, which may store and process it in the United States and other countries. Cloudflare may also process visitor, form and download data in the United States and other countries. Stripe sends purchase receipts.
This means your details are sent and stored outside Australia, with Google (for Gmail), Stripe and Cloudflare (for our website, its forms and Turnstile), in the United States and elsewhere. The companies they use to run their services may also process them in other countries. Under Australian Privacy Principle 8 we're responsible for how these overseas providers handle them. We only use providers that have their own privacy and security commitments, and we limit access to the people running Decision Intelligence.
Like most websites, our host, Cloudflare, may log visitors' IP addresses and set essential cookies so the site and its forms work. On pages with a form, Cloudflare Turnstile may use your browser's storage while it checks you're not a bot. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits to our pages. It doesn't use cookies or build a profile of you; it shows us totals, such as which pages were viewed, which site sent people to us, and the browsers, devices and countries visits came from. We don't use any advertising trackers.
We don't sell, rent or trade your details, and we don't share them with anyone else for marketing. The only other parties who see them are the providers above (Google for Gmail, Stripe and Cloudflare), and only so their services can run.
We delete waitlist sign-ups, from the form or by email, 12 months after Bias Scanner launches. We delete enquiry emails 24 months after our last contact with you. We keep purchase records for five years, as above. If you ask us to delete your waitlist details or an enquiry, we will. Purchase records have to be kept for tax, but we won't use them for anything else.
You can ask to see the details we hold about you, to correct anything that's wrong or out of date, or to delete them. Email us at privacy@decisionintel.co and we'll reply within 30 days. There's no charge. We'll confirm it's really you before we share or change anything.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, tell us first and we'll try to put it right. If that doesn't work, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
If there's a data breach that's likely to cause serious harm to you, we'll tell you, and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner where that applies.
Bias Scanner doesn't handle any recordings yet. Before it does, we'll update this policy. If anything else changes, the new version and its date will appear on this page.
